Meaningful part of this safari includes getting close to the real people who live in Africa; buying fabrics in large outdoor markets, cooking traditional dishes with natives, visiting street children where they live in the slums and see how organizations operate to help them.

Day 1, Arrival Day
Daniel from Flamingo Safari will meet you at the airport and take you to Scripture Mission Guesthouse for check-in. The guest house is run by the Norwegian Lutheran Missionary and is located at Karen area (After Karen Blixen). It is a quiet and nice place with a swimming pool and a large outdoor area. Depending on time for your arrival, the day's activities will be decided later.

Day 2 – Nairobi excursion
After breakfast, your driver will take you to Kitengela glass blowing factory. It is in this you will see different shapes of glasses being manufactured. After Kitengela you will go to Karen coffee garden for lunch.
After lunch there are opportunities to visit the Karen Blixen Museum, and from the museum you will visit Kazuri beads, jewellery & pottery hand crafted.
Dinner at a restaurant in Karen area near your guesthouse.

Day 3 – Kitui
After breakfast you leave the guesthouse for your drive to Kitui. The drive from Nairobi to Kitui town takes about four hours via Machakos town, depending on the traffic and stop on the way. You stop in Wamunyu for lunch at La Palace restaurant, and to visit a carving factory.
Wamunyu town is famous for its carving historic background. The carving industry in Kenya started in this small town back in 1910, at the time when hunting activities were booming business. Tourism started and the carving business grew.
From Wamunyu you drive approx. 1 hour to Kwa Wasya village and Flamingo Farm. Here you will stay in a small guesthouse, and Penninah and Gladys will take good care of you.

Day 4 – “A Kamba for a day”
Today you will learn more about the life in this small village. The tribe here is called Kamba, and you will visit some of them and their families.
You will also meet with some of 60 women that started their small business with help from Help to Selfhelp in Africa. Kanini Women Group are making baskets, and Shamba Ladies are growing vegetables.

In the afternoon you are going to visit Daniel’s mothers home and other family members and see where he was born.

Day 5 – Katulani excursion
After breakfast Daniel will take you to some of Help to Selfhelp`s water projects. Kalimani water station, pig farm in Katulani and a primary school. The students love visitors.
Lunch at Flamingo Farm before you go to Kitui Villa Hotel for relaxation at the swimming pool and dinner.

Day 6
After breakfast, you say goodbye to your friends in Kitui and start your drive up to lake Naivasha in Rift Valley. You will have lunch at Chania falls. After lunch you drive to Lake Naivasha and check in at Burch Resort.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 7 Full day at Lake Naivasha
Today you have a full day in Lake Naivasha. You will start before breakfast with a 1 hour guided boat trip on the lake to see hippoes, birds and other wildlife. After breakfast, you can choose to either relax at the swimming pool or to visit Hells Gate National Park for a hike. (USD 30). We will also visit a rose farm in Naivasha.

Day 8
After early breakfast, you start your journey to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy the drive through wonderful scenery and landscape. You will stay at AA-lodge

Day 9 Full day Maasai Mara National Reserve
Maasai Mara has the largest conservation of animals in Kenya and in the northern part of the Tanzanian Serengeti National Park. You will have a full day in the park and will have picnic lunch in the wilderness. You will be so close to the boarder to Tanzania that you can step over to Tanzania side. You will see the Mara River with hippos and crocodiles. In Maasai Mara National Reserve there is almost a “Big five” guarantee! In the evening, you will sit around the bonfire.

Day 10
After breakfast and check out we drive back to Nairobi. We stop for picnic-lunch on the way. Afternoon activities will be decided later.

This is the day the day you are going to be taken to the railway station for your train to Mombasa
