Meaningful safari – a different kind of safari! You will experience the traditional safari, driving through the national park of this magnificent country and seeing the range of animals the nature has to offer.


An informative tour with a lot of activities. We guarantee this will be a unique experience. A theme throughout the trip is to learn and see various aspects of Kenya; African wildlife, beautiful nature, wonderful people, and exotic tribe-culture.

THE SAFARI DAY BY DAY


Departure day, Friday 31st March

Departure from Gardermoen 31st March 2023 06.25 (AF1275), arrival Paris 0855. Departure Paris 1010 (AF814), arrival Nairobi 1920.. 

 

On arrival you are met by your safari driver guide who are waiting for you at the international arrival wing. We will drive directly to our guesthouse.

Saturday 1st April, Sightseeing in Nairobi

After breakfast, you can take a short walk on site. Here is the Norwegian school for Norwegian missionaries, and their administration.


We start this first day in Kenya with sightseeing in Nairobi. The capital of Kenya. Here the contrasts are great. Skyscrapers and modern buildings are not far from the slums. We stop for lunch at For You restaurant. After lunch we drive back to our guesthouse for relaxation. Dinner in Asmara restaurant.

Sunday 2nd April, Kitui

Today we are driving to Kitui. The distance is 150 km and takes approx. 4 hours depending on the traffic. The drive itself is an experience and will give you an insight into what daily life is like out in the countryside. We stop for lunch at Wamunyo, and to visit a woodcarving factory. Here you can see how they make their carvings, with simple tools. They are proud of their job and are always ready for a chat when it comes to guests. They make beautiful African animals.


In Kitui town we do a short stop at Talent hotel, where some of the guests will stay. From Kitui we drive to Flamingo farm in Kwa Wasya village. A distance of 13 km.

Monday 3rd April, Kwa Wasya Village - Be a Kamba for a day

Breakfast at Flamingo farm at 9am. 


  • We will meet some of the 60 women who receive support from Help to Selfhelp in Africa to run their own small business

    • Home visit to a member of Kanini Woman group who makes traditional baskets

    • Home visit to one of the ladies who runs a micro-farm and sells vegetables


After lunch we will do sightseeing-by-foot in Kitui town. Dinner at Kitui Villa.

Tuesday 4th April, Kwa Wasya Village

Breakfast at Flamingo farm at 9am.


  • We are visiting a WaSH-project that Help to Selfhelp in Africa has completed.
  • WaSH stand for; Water, Sanitation, Hygiene

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner


Wednesday 5th April , Kwa Wasya – Naivasha

Today we must say goodbye to our friends in Kwa Wasya. Breakfast at Flamingo farm before we start our drive up to Lake Naivasha in Rift Valley. We will have lunch at Chania falls.

Thursday 6th April,  Full day in Lake Naivasha

Today we have a full day in Naivasha. We start before breakfast with a 1-hour guided boat trip on the lake to see hippos, birds and other wildlife. After breakfast, you can choose to either relax at the swimming pool or to visit Hells Gate National Park for approximately 1 hour hike. After lunch we will visit a flower farm.

Friday 7th April, Naivasha - Maasai Mara

After breakfast, we start our journey to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy the drive through wonderful scenery and landscape. We will stop for picnic-lunch Loita planes. After check-in to our lodge we will go for a 2 hours afternoon game drive at 4pm.

Saturday 8th April, Full day in Maasai Mara

Maasai Mara has the largest conservation of animals in Kenya and in the northern part of the Tanzanian Serengeti National Park. We have a full day in the park and will have picnic lunch in the wilderness. In Maasai Mara National Reserve there is almost a “Big five” guarantee! In the evening, we will sit around the bonfire in our camp.

Sunday 9th April, Maasai Mara - Nairobi

After breakfast and check out we drive back to Nairobi. We will stop in Narok for our picnic lunch. We arrive in Nairobi in the early afternoon. Dinner in a restaurant in Karen area.

Monday 10th April, Departure day

After breakfast we drive up to Kitengela Hot Glass Factory to see beautiful art. Today we must prepare for departure. Lunch at Karen Coffee garden before visiting Karen Blixen museum and Kazuri beads factory. 


Dinner and final packing in Ole Sereni Hotel.


We drive to the airport 1930.


11th April - Back in Norway

Arrival Paris 0700 the following day.

Departure Paris  for Oslo 1425 (AF1774), arrival Oslo 1640.

Departure Bergen 0930 (AF1252), arrival Bergen 11.40.

The price is NOK 22 500,-  pr person 

Additional charge for singel room: NOK 2000

The price is based on a group of minimum 12 participants.


Included: Air travel from Oslo Airport Gardermoen /Bergen Airport Flesland to Nairobi Jumo Kenyatta International and return, accommodation and meals as mentioned in the program, entrance-fee to Maasai Mara National Reserve, 1-hour boat safari in Lake Naivasha, all travel by car and activities mentioned in the program.

 

Not included: Visa to Kenya USD 50, tip, drinks to the meals. Entrance-fee, transport and guiding to Hells Gate National Park,  (app USD 35)

 

We have to take reservations for variation in the different currencies and other conditions we do not control. There may be minor changes in the program depending on weather conditions, special wishes from the participants, and other issues we can not forsee.
