Departure from Gardermoen – Saturday 14th February. Nairobi - the City That Never Sleeps
Departure from Norway. Travelers book their own flights. If anyone wants to come down 1 or 2 days earlier, we can arrange transportation and accommodation for an additional fee.
We are met by our safari driver Daniel from Flamingo Safari, who will take us to our guesthouse.

Day 1, Sunday 15th February. Full day in Nairobi
Late breakfast. 11am we will visit Karen Blixen museum. before we drive to Rowallan Scout Camp.
Lunch at Karen Blixen Coffe Garden (own cost). Dinner at the Guesthouse.

Day 2, Monday 16th February. Discover Maasai Mara
After breakfast at 7am we will visit Kazuri Beads Factory in Nairobi before we start our journey to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy the drive through wonderful scenery and landscape.

Day 3, Tuesday 17th February. Explore Maasai Mara - Safari and wilderness lunch
Maasai Mara has the largest conservation of animals in Kenya and in the northern part of the Tanzanian Serengeti National Park. We have a full day in the park and will have picnic lunch in the wilderness. You will see the Mara River with hippos and crocodiles. In Maasai Mara National Reserve there is almost a “Big five” guarantee! In the evening, we will sit around the bonfire in our camp entertained by the Maasai dancers.
There is an option to take a balloon safari early in the morning.

Day 4, Wednesday 18th February, Adventurous journey to Naivasha
After breakfast, we start our drive to Lake Naivasha in Rift Valley. We will stop for lunch at Java Coffee House (Buffalo Mall). After lunch we spent the afternoon relaxing with SPA, swim, a drink, and to see when they feed the hippos.

Day 5, Thursday 19th February, Magical morning at Lake Naivasha - Boat trip
We start before breakfast with a one-hour guided boat trip on the lake to see hippoes, birds and other wildlife. After breakfast we will leave for Nyeri.

Day 6, Friday 20th February, Scouting
Today there will be scouting activities.

Day 7, Saturday 21st February - Founders Day Parade
Visit Robert Baden-Powell home for the parade.

Day 8, Sunday 22nd February. Nyeri - Kitui. Wonderful countryside to our village Kwanza Wasya
After breakfast we will drive to Kitui. Some in the group will check in at Kitui Villa Hotel, and some will stay at Flamingo Guesthouse 13 km from the town. The guesthouse is located on Daniel´s farm, and is the center for Help to Selfjelps projects.
All of us will have dinner at the farm.

Day 9, Monday 23rd February, Be a Kamba for a day
Breakfast at Flamingo farm 8.30am. Today we will meet scouts at Ngilu Girls Secondary School. We will also meet Kanini Women Group. They are 30 ladies who have their own small business weaving baskets. Help to Selfhelp sell the baskets in Norway. This has provided the women with income for almost 15 years.

Day 10, Tuesday 24th February. Kitui - Nairobi
Today we will say goodbye to our friends in Kwa Ways and drive to Nairobi. The distance is 150 km, but we will have some stops on the way. We will stop in Wamunyu town to visit a wood carving factory.

Day 11, Wednesday 25th February - Farewell
Your drivers will take you to the airport. Those who leave late in the evening will have time to do excursion in Nairobi.

Terms and conditions
The safari price is NOK 17 500,- pr person. Additional charge for single room: NOK 2000. The price is based on minimum 5 travelers.
Included: 11 nights accommodation and meals as mentioned in the program, entrance-fee to Maasai Mara National Reserve, 1-hour hippo safari in Naivasha, all transport and excursions in Nairobi and Kitui.
Not included: Air ticket, Visa to Kenya USD 35, balloon safari in Maasai Mara, tip and drinks to the meals..
We have to take reservations for variation in the different currencies and other conditions we do not control. There may be minor changes in the program depending on weather conditions, special wishes from the participants, and other issues we can not forsee.
