Meaningful safari – a different kind of safari! You will experience the traditional safari, driving through the national park of this magnificent country and seeing the range of animals the nature has to offer.

An informative tour with a lot of fun activities. Tailored youth accompanied by an adult. We guarantee this will be an unique experience. A theme throughout the the trip is to learn and see various aspects of Kenya; African wildlife, beautiful nature, wonderful people and exotic tribe-culture.

THE SAFARI DAY BY DAY

Departure day – Friday 31^st March

Departure from Norway 31^st March 2023 

Departure from Gardermoen 31^st March 2023 0625 (AF1275), arrival Paris 0855. Departure Paris 1010 (AF814), arrival Nairobi 1920. Departure from Bergen 31^st March 2023 0605 (KL1184), arrival Amsterdam 0745. Departure Amsterdam 1305 (KL565), arrival Nairobi 2200. The travellers from Oslo and Bergen will meet in Nairobi.

On arrival you are met by your safari driver guide who are waiting for you at the international arrival wing. We will go directly to our guesthouse.

Saturday 1^st  April, Sightseeing in Nairobi

After breakfast, you can take a short walk on site. Here is the Norwegian school for Norwegian missionaries, and their administration.

The activities today are to visit the Giraffe centre where you can have the pleasure of kissing a giraffe. After that we go for sightseeing in this big city. The capital of Kenya. Here the contrasts are great. Skyscrapers and modern buildings are not far from the slums. We stop for lunch. Dinner at 4-You restaurant. After lunch we drive back to our guesthouse for relaxation. Dinner in Asmara restaurant.

Sunday 2^nd  April, Nairobi-Kitui

Today we are driving to Kitui. The distance is 150 km and takes approx. 4 hours depending on the traffic. The drive itself is an experience and will give you an insight into what daily life is like out in the countryside. We stop for lunch at Wamunyo, and to visit a woodcarving factory. Here you can see how they make their carvings, with simple tools. They are proud of their job and are always ready for a chat when it comes to guests. They make beautiful African animals.

After Wamunyo we drive direct to Flamingo farm.

Monday 3^rd April, Kwa Wasya Village - Be a Kamba for a day

Breakfast at Flamingo Farm at 9am.

• Meet your host-family

• Various fun activities with the local youth.

After lunch we will do sightseeing-by-foot in Kitui town. Dinner at Kitui Villa.

Tuesday 4^th April, Kwa Wasya Village 

Breakfast at Flamingo Farm at 9am.

• We buy food at a local market

• Your host-family shows you how to prepare the dish they have chosen, and you will assist

Wednesday 5^th April, Kwa Wasya Village - Farewell party

Breakfast at Flamingo farm at 9am. After breakfast we walk with our friends to Ivuku Primary School to see how the teaching takes place.

We drive to Kitui town for lunch and relaxation by the swimming-pool.

Thursday 6^th April, Kitui - Amboseli National Park

After breakfast at we start our journey to Amboseli National Park.

Accommodation: AA-lodge

Meals: Breakfast and dinner. Lunch at own cost.

Friday 7^th April, Full day Game drive in Amboseli National Park

Full day in Amboseli National Park. The park is beautiful and famous for its stunning scenery with the 19,450 ft. Mt, Kilimanjaro dominating the view. The Park which is situated on the Kenya / Tanzania border is also known for its wildlife, especially the prolific elephant herds. The park covers an area of 3810 square km; the vegetation is varied but dominated by savannah. This allows viewing of the plain game ranging from Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Giraffes, and not forgetting, the Hyenas.

Saturday 8^th April, Full day Game drive in Amboseli National Park

Full day in the park.

Accommodation: AA-lodge

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Sunday 9^th April, Amboseli National Park - Nairobi 22^th . Departure

After breakfast, we drive back to Nairob.On the way we will stop for picnic lunch.

Program depends on when we return to Nairobi.

Monday 10^th April, Departure day

After breakfast we drive up to Kitengela Hot Glass Factory to see beautiful art. Lunch at Karen Coffee garden before visiting Karen Blixen museum and Kazuri beads factory.

Dinner and final packing in Ole Sereni Hotel.

We drive to the airport 1930.

Departure time for our flight to Paris is 23.30 (AF813).

Meals: Breakfast. Lunch and Dinner in Nairobi at own cost.

Day 11, Arrive in Norway 11^th April

• Arrival Paris 0700 the  
• Departure for Oslo 1425 (AF1774), arrival Oslo 1640.

• Departure for Bergen 0930 (AF1252), arrival Bergen 11.40.

Terms, conditions  and registration

The price is NOK 21 500,- pr person. from Oslo, NOK 22 000,- from Bergen. Additional charge for single  room: NOK 1000,-. Binding registration by paying NOK 2000 before 15th August 2022.. For  travellers from Bergen is  NOK2500. Tag the payment TEENS 2023. Confirm with an e-mail to post@meaningfulsafari.com. Second payment is due 15^th  Feb 2023.

Included in the price: Air ticket to and from, Oslo - Nairobi/Bergen - Nairobi. Accommodatiton and meals according to the program, transport in Kenya, excursions and guides, entrance-fee to Amboseli National Park. Not included: Visa to Kenya (USD 50), tips, drinks.

We have to take reservations for variation in the different currencies and other conditions we do not control. There may be minor changes in the program depending on weather conditions, special wishes from the participants, and other issues we can not forsee. Hotels mentioded in the program can be changed.
