Meaningful safari – a different kind of safari! You will experience the traditional safari, driving through the national park of this magnificent country and seeing the range of animals the nature has to offer.


An informative tour with a lot of activities. We guarantee this will be a unique experience. A theme throughout the trip is to learn and see various aspects of Kenya; African wildlife, beautiful nature, wonderful people, and exotic tribe-culture.

Nairobi - Kitui - Naivasha - Lake Nakuru- Nairobi

19th – 28th March 2025 (in Norway 29th)


Wednesday 19th March, Arrival in Nairobi. The beginning of the adventure. 

Departure from Bergen BGO 19th March 06.05 with KLM. Departure from Oslo 06.30 with Lufthansa. Arrival time in Nairobi 22.00.  On arrival you are met by your safari driver guide who are waiting for you at the international arrival wing. We will drive directly to our guesthouse. Approx 30 minutes drive.

Thursday 20th March, Drive to the Village in Kitui

After breakfast, you can take a short walk on site. Here is the Norwegian school and the main office for the Norwegian missionaries. The guesthouse has a swimming pool. 


We start this first day in Kenya to drive straight to Kitui where will shall stay in Kwa Wasya village for 4 nights. The driving hours take approx 4 hours. We will stop for lunch and to visit a wood carving factory. The drive itself is an experience and will give you an insight into what daily life is like out in the countryside.

Friday 21st March, Dawn in Kwa Wasya - meet the locals

In the morning you will wake up to the sounds of animals on the farm. After breakfast we will do home visits in the village. We will meet some of the women that are helped to run their own small micro-business from the organization Help to Selfhelp in Africa. After lunch we will do our first visit to Kitui School for the Mentally Handicapped. The safari includes a project for the students at this school. Today we will decorate a freshly painted wall in one of the dormitories. Hopefully we will do this together with some of the students.


After a short walk in Kitui town, we will have dinner at Kitui Villa Hotel.  

Here they have a swimming pool.

Saturday 22nd March, Be a Kamba for a day - Culture and unity

Today we will interact with the locals in Kwa Wasya village for different activities, and have a lot of fun. Kamba is the name of the tribe in this area. Also called "Kamba-people". We will meet Kanini Women Group, also called Basked Ladies, and children participating in an English reading circle. A program run by Help to Selfhelp - Children in Africa.

Sunday 23rd March - Kitui School for Collaboration

New visit to Kitui School to complete our planned project. We will come back to what activities we are going to do, but it will involve upgrading one of the dormitories. Dinner at Kitui Villa Hotel

Monday 24th March, Our Safari begin

After early breakfast at Flamingo farm we say goodbye to our new friends and start our safari to Naivasha. Today we have a long driving distance. We will see coffee and tea plantations, the pineapple plantations of Del Monte, small villages and magnificent scenery when we reach the famous Rift Valley. 


We will stop for lunch at Chania Falls in Thika. After check-in we have time for a swim and a drink before dinner.

    Tuesday 25th March. Naivasha and Nakuru. Wonders of nature

    We will start before breakfast (at 6am) with a 1-hour guided boat trip on the lake to see hippos, birds, and other wildlife. After breakfast, we will visit a rose factory before we proceed to Nakuru town. The driving distance between Naivasha and Nakuru is 100 km.  We have time for relaxation at the swimming pool before dinner.

    Wednesday 26th March, Lake Nakuru National Park - A day with wildlife

    We start from the hotel at 6pm with our packed breakfast. Full day in Nakuru National Park. The lake is a salt water lake, and is known for the pink flamingos. Here is whide rihnos, Uganda giraffes, leopards, lions and a lot of other animals and birds. There is no elephants in this park.

    Thursday 27th  - back to Nairobi. A day for art 

    Today we drive back to Nairobi and direct to Kitengela Glass Blow factory. We will have lunch at Kitengela. After lunch we will visit Kazuri Beads Factory, and a small Maasai market before we are back at Scripture Mission. Dinner in walking distance from the guesthouse.

    Friday 28th March, Farewell to Kenya - memories for a lifetime

    On this last day you can choose to visit baby elephants who have lost their mother and are being cared for by the Shedrack wildlife trust. Or you can visit the Karen Blixen museum. We start from our guesthouse 10am. 


    Lunch at 4-You restaurant and a short drive in Nairobi centre before we drive to the airport. 


    Departure time for our flight back to Norway via Amsterdam and Frankfurt is just some minutes before midnight. We must be at the airport at 8pm. .

    The price is NOK 13 000,-  pr person. Additional charge for single room: NOK 1500.

    • Air ticket, Travel Authorization to Kenya USD 32, drinks to the meals, Insurance, vaccines.
